Daddy/Daughter Dance
This past weekend was the annual Daddy/Daughter Dance at the Maple Grove LifeTime Fitness! Last year was the first year that Aubrey and I attended the dance. Now that Aubrey had an idea of what to expect, she seemed to be even more excited this year than she was last year. She got to spend a night with Mom shopping for a new dress and loved spending time with Mom preparing for the dance.
LifeTime does a great job organizing the dance and keeping the focus on the kids. LifeTime takes an official Daddy/Daughter photo when the "couples" arrive and Aubrey then gets to decorate the frame that the photo will go in. After that, we have a wonderful dinner that includes sandwiches, chips, and cup cakes. Once dinner is done, it is time to party. There is a great DJ there that plays great games for the kids all night long. Aubrey and I competed in the mummy competition. Unfortunately we didn't win and I don't know how we didn't...Aubrey was the cutest, and most fully covered, mummy at the dance. Aubrey also got to prance around the gym with the other kids as they all did the train together. Toward the end of the night, Aubrey got a flower painted on her hand. It was an incredible night and Daddy had a ton of fun!

Aubrey is shown decorating Valentine's Day cookies and with her birdhouse she built at Home Depot. The Valentine's Day cookies are a big hit with the kids. No cookies survive Colton's decorating process as the all get gobbled up. As you can see, Aubrey puts a great amount of concentration into her cookies. Way to go Peanut! The birdhouse was built at Home Depot as part of the free kids workshop the put on every other Saturday morning. She loved the process of building it which included hammering nails, using wood glue, and decorating it with stickers.
